Dr. A.S. Ghiathi earned his BS in Chemistry and Biology from Bowling Green State University. He received his BS in Pharmacy and PharmD from Mercer University’s School of Pharmacy before going on to study medicine at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine Residency in Columbus, GA and since then has dedicated his life to serving rural Southwest Georgia. Dr. Ghiathi joins Mercer Medicine Clay County after almost 25 years of service to the Randolph County hospital in Cuthbert. He is board-certified in Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ghiathi loves to spend time with his family, including his 4 children. His oldest son also practices medicine, while his second-oldest son completed his BS and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Mercer University (’20). In his free time, Dr. Ghiathi enjoys fishing and hiking with his two dogs, one of which is named Bear, after his alma mater.
