Marriage and Family Therapy

You don’t have to face life’s hard moments on your own. Whether you’re dealing with relationship problems, family stress or personal challenges, our licensed marriage and family therapists are here to support you with care and understanding. We’re here to help you feel heard, build healthier connections and find practical steps forward.
What is a marriage and family therapist?
A licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) looks at how your relationships and family life affect your overall well-being. Instead of focusing on problems one person at a time, LMFTs help you see patterns, improve communication, learn coping skills and build trust. Because they are trained in how people relate to each other, LMFTs can help individuals, couples and families understand how their interactions shape their emotional health. Your therapist will start with a caring, thorough conversation to understand what you’re going through and offer tools to help you make progress.
Our therapists offer:
- Individual therapy: Support for depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, big life changes, and more.
- Couples therapy: A safe space to talk about difficult issues, improve communication, rebuild closeness, and work through concerns like conflict, infidelity, stress, or emotional distance.
- Family therapy: Help for families to communicate better, reduce conflict, and strengthen relationships.
What can I expect from therapy?
Your first session is mostly a conversation. Your therapist will get to know you, talk about what brought you in and begin creating a plan to support your goals.
- In individual therapy, the focus is on you—your experiences, challenges and how your relationships may be affecting your well-being.
- In couples therapy, your therapist typically meets with both partners together and may also meet individually if helpful.
- In family therapy, sessions often begin with the whole family and may include individual meetings as needed.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Most people meet with their therapist weekly or every other week, but you’ll decide together what schedule feels right. Each session usually lasts about 60 minutes. Some people find therapy helpful in just a few months, while others need more time. Your therapist will partner with you to decide how long treatment should last based on your goals and needs.
