Biography

Dr. Patricia Fennessy graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and went on to obtain her medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University in Atlanta, GA where she also served as Chief Resident. She stayed on as faculty as an assistant professor in Emory University’s School of Medicine Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics and received numerous teaching awards during her time there. She continues to teach in the Mercer University School of Medicine Community Medicine department.

She is a Board Certified obstetrician and gynecologist who holds professional memberships including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Fellow of American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Georgia Obstetrical and Gynecological Society.

Dr. Fennessy stays very active in the community when not practicing her passion of women’s health, volunteering for several local committees, clubs, and sitting on local boards. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Reese, and husband, John. As a family they stay active in the breeding and showing of horses among other activities.

Dr. Fennessy practices Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mercer Medicine Plains.
