Dr. John Wesley King joined Mercer Medicine as a pulmonology provider in 2017. Dr. King also serves as a professor at Mercer University School of Medicine. Dr. King is a Milledgeville, Georgia native and graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in biology. While at Georgia Tech, he earned a letter in cross country and was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. He graduated with an M.D. from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency at San Diego Naval Hospital, and a fellowship in pulmonology at Bethesda Naval Hospital.

Dr. King is retired from the U.S. Navy at the rank of Lt. Commander in the Medical Corps. He’s a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians.

Dr. King practices pulmonology at Mercer Medicine Downtown Macon.
