Dr. Joe Robinson is a native of Macon, Georgia and joined the Mercer Medicine team in 2018. In addition to practicing sports medicine, Dr. Robinson is also an assistant professor of internal medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine. Dr. Robinson attended the University of the South for undergraduate studies, where he played football and was a starter at defensive end. He graduated from Mercer University School of Medicine, completing his residency at the University of Tennessee Nashville and his sports medicine fellowship at East Carolina University. He has extensive experience in clinical sports medicine, serving as assistant team physician at East Carolina University, providing medical coverage for the Nashville Rock ‘N Roll Marathon, and performing sports physicals for Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Robinson is married and is a member of Vineville United Methodist Church. He’s proud to continue his family’s tradition of serving the Macon medical community.

In 2020, Dr. Robinson was voted Runner Up for the Best Sports Medicine Practice in Macon Telegraph’s “Best of Macon”.

Dr. Robinsons is board-certified in internal medicine and sports medicine and practices at Mercer Medicine Downtown Macon.
